You Gotta Keep on Keepin’ On

So, sometimes things don’t go as planned. Sometimes things beyond your control can affect your life.  A few months ago I went to a seminar on empowering yourself, and one of the speakers talked about the “busyness syndrome”. Oh man is this me.  There is so much pressure (well I feel like there is) to be good at everything.  And then the things you want or hope to achieve or do, don’t happen.  Sometimes you get so busy that you don’t have time to do the things that bring joy to your life.
This is where I have been at the last couple of months.  I feel like it is a constant struggle of one step forward and two steps back.  But every day, and every situation is a learning experience.  I have started to slow down and take a look at what I think is important to me and start working towards that.
Obviously happiness is number one and in order to feel like you can get the things done that you are hoping to do, you need to focus on YOU first!
On my journey to a happier, healthier me I have been doing a lot of learning. I have been continuing on my fitness journey and feel great!! I have been trying to “push play” every day. I have missed a couple of workouts here and there but have learned to not get down on myself for missing one, just keep on going!! I have been (trying to) take the time to sit and read. And I have been also planning some projects for around the house to keep my mind busy and my heart happy!
There is so much negative in the world, and I am one of those people who take on the weight of the world. Now I am trying to realize that everyone’s problems, are not my problems.  I am trying to find the positive in every situation.  A couple of my (many) flaws is that I feel too much and worry about everyone.
And because I am not a super serious person and this blog post was a lot of #realtalk I will leave you with some inspirational Joe Dirt quotes…
We can all learn something from him, haha! Especially the rule #1… I am #1!!
