I’ve been working on a few little projects around the house. I’m driving my husband crazy!! We just moved into our house last November and I’m changing everything already!! When we sold our old house we only had 2 weeks to pack up and move into this house, so I quickly picked “temporary” paint colours (well my husband didn’t know they were temporary). I think things will always just be “temporary” around here, he has a hard time understanding that I am home all day, every day, with our 2 little monsters so from looking at these walls, and being inspired while reading other peoples blogs, I want to change things all of the time!! He enjoys playing and watching sports, I enjoy crafting and decorating, what is not to get about that??
If anyone has ever used chalkboard paint, they would probably agree with me that it is so addicting!! It all started here, on my pantry door…
and then a little one here at my back door…
and then this whole wall in my dining room.
It is so much fun, I want every wall in my house to be a chalkboard!! I wanted to paint the wall behind my bed black, and tried to convince my husband to let me do it in chalkboard (how cute would it be writing love notes to each other?!?) He didn’t go for it, so I settled for just black. I love it!! I can’t wait to get a white headboard, I’m debating between fabric or wood painted white.
A big winter project is painting all of the trim in our house white! So I can’t wait to do that. And we are going to be replacing that lovely yellow baseboard heater (that was the colour of our bedroom when we moved in) with a white one. I also added wallpaper to this desk and armoire to pretty it up a bit.
All I need to finish my makeup desk is some nice glass knobs for the drawers. My next project is my front foyer, painting all of the trim white, the stairs white and black, and painting and adding beadboard. This yellow colour was the “temporary” colour I picked for the whole living room, foyer and hallway.
I’m having a hard time deciding wheteher to paint it all dark or light. I like the look of dark with white furniture and colourful accents, but I also like a bright room.
What to do?
