The Kitchen: Plan B

I’ve been bugging my husband about getting the kitchen done, I thought I had him convinced that our cupboards are fine and we should just get new countertops.  Well when I mentioned it to him today he said no, and he PROMISED me that within 2 years we will get a whole new kitchen!!  So I am ok with that…I think.  2 years is a really long time for someone who doesn’t like to wait for things!!  This is the third house we’ve owned and I’ve never even lived in any of them for 2 years.  Anyways on to Plan B…  I found this cool kitchen planner on the IKEA website, and I had our kitchen all planned out for the day my husband says that we can get a new kitchen.  So I printed it out and it is now hanging on my vision board.

Here is the design I came up with…

This is the view you would see from the living room, the wall on the right isn’t supposed to be there but I didn’t know how to take it out.  I just love all of the drawers!! I wanted all of those drawers in the island (there are 12) for all of my Tupperware!! haha!
Here is the view from above so you can get an idea of the size of the kitchen…
Obviously I like Plan B better, because it also means that instead of cutting that hole out the wall we would take the wall out all together.  We’ll have to see if Plan B is going to happen, he did say 2 years, and now you are my witness to that!!

  1. Love the layout. I have deep drawers in my kitchen and love it. Easier to keep everything organized!

Your doing a great job with the blog!

  2. Hi Maxine:
I was just 'surfing' and found your blog; very cool.
Do you think it would be easier to buy a new house with a new kitchen; just saying……
If you like decor mags and such, check out Olioboard; it is a cool site where you can do vision boards with design in mind.
I look forward to your blogging!!
