I’ll have a tall glass of creative juice, please!

I started this blog as sort of a journal of my life.  I was a stay at home Mom and loved spending hours reading other people’s blogs.  People are so interesting and I love to read and learn about them!  I wanted to have my own little slice of the internet so I could share/document my DIY projects and different parts of my life.

I am so much happier when I am creating!! I have pretty much painted my whole house on my own!! I love it! There is something so relaxing about creating.  Also the feeling of accomplishment when finished is pretty amazing too!!

Lately, I’ve been able to putz around the house again and I’m loving it!! I started and finished a few small projects and it feels great! This winter, I plan to paint the whole upstairs of the house again.. Yes, I am actually starting to get tired of the hot pink foyer!

I had made a wreath for the front door a couple of years ago.  I loved it, but it was made from glass Christmas balls, so slowly over the years they have fallen off one by one in the cold and smashed on the ground.

Years ago, on Monday nights we used to go to my NaNa’s house and she would make us popcorn in a pot on the stove and we would sit and knit with her.  Anytime I had a knitting mistake, I would wait until Monday nights to get NaNa to help me fix it.  Since NaNa has left us, my Mom has kept up with this tradition. This week I finished a new wreath I had been working on!!

This winter, I am loving the red and black plaid!! I thought it would look great with leopard print (of course, doesn’t everything?!)  I needed to make new cushions for my couch so I bought some plaid flannel, and used an old leopard print sheet (that I couldn’t part with) to make some cushion covers.  Also I have seen covers made from sweaters and it looked so easy, so I grabbed a sweater that is too small for me out of my closet and turned it into a pillow cover.  So fun and easy!!

Do you ever find things around your house and decide to turn them into something else?  That sweater was never going to fit me again, and if I manage to fit into a size small again someday, then yay me! I deserve to go shopping!! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!!
