good food…good friends…good times…

I’m recovering from a busy weekend.  Friday night was our annual girls Christmas dinner get-together.  I look forward to it every year.  We went to the Elk this year since Grosvenors is now closed.  It was good, but I do miss my chicken raviolli in an orange cream sauce appetizer from Grosvenors.  Oh well, its nice to get out and chat with the girls (without our kids).  I maybe had a little bit too much fun, some of the girls went out to the bar after dinner, and of course I went too.  I was feeling quite rough Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon we had a our parents and a few of my Aunts and Uncles over for dinner.  And that night we had all of our friends over to spread some Christmas cheer.  My mom brought over this cookbook that her good friend had published.

She always has my mom and their friends over for dinner and she is a fantastic cook.  For years the ladies had been encouraging her to write a cookbook of her favourite recipes.  So here it is, and I can’t wait to make a lot of the recipes in it…I may have to do a little Julie and Julia.

Yesterday I left the boys at home and went over to my mom’s to do some Christmas baking!

I really don’t need all of this since we are only having my grandparents over on Christmas eve for dinner.  We made shortbread cookies, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, macaroons, and rocky road popcorn.  mmm yummy!! I love Christmas!!
