Everyone has different opinions about tattoos, mine is that I love them!! I think they are so interesting!!  And not to mention, addictive!!  I got my first tattoo when I was away in college, when I was 19.  I didn’t show my mom for a while, I was scared of what she would think.  I find it funny now, that I was scared to show her this tiny tattoo, when I think of the other tattoos I have now.  But even now, I’m married and have 2 kids and I’m still afraid to tell my Mom when I am getting tattooed.  You never want to disappoint your mother!!  Love you Ma!!
That little wee zodiac sign for cancer was my first one.  And then I got this tribal one on my lower back.  I try not to live with any regrets in my life but I should’ve thought about this one before having it done.  I think it is very important to know about the place you are getting your tattoo done.  Me and a girlfriend from school, on a whim, went and got those little zodiac tattoos on our way home from school one day.  Just walked into a place and got them done…boy was that a mistake!!  You can’t tell from the picture but the tattoo is all puffy, which means scar tissue, which means terrible tattoo.  The tribal tattoo was done by an amazing artist, Scott Duncan from Sugar Shack Tattoo in Kincardine, Ontario.  Scott did an amazing job on the tribal tattoo, he did exactly what I wanted (at the time), but now I wish I would’ve waited before jumping into getting a tattoo on my lower back, doesn’t everyone have one?  Anyways Scott has done all of my other tattoos and I couldn’t imagine ever going to someone else, he does exactly what you ask for but like a million times better than you could have ever pictured it!!
This one is on my ankle, I love it!!  It is so amazing how you can give him a couple of ideas and then he draws up this awesomeness!
Two of my cousins and I went and had these done together.
And now for my favorite tattoo…
A portrait of my NaNa!! I didn’t know what to get her for her 80th birthday so I got this for her, haha.  My NaNa is that person that I will always look up to, she has the biggest heart, and a big smile that matches it!!  She had this photo taken when she was in her teens, it is my favorite picture of her!!  When I showed NaNa my tribute to her, she said “you must really love me!” with tears in her eyes.  She is not a fan of tattoos, but I have never heard her say anything negative, about anyone or anything in my whole life.  So even though she doesn’t like tattoos, I don’t think she hates this one, haha!
Here are husbands tattoos…
The only one not done by Scott is the Celtic knot sun thing on his shoulder. He had the colors touched up when he had this one done.
He wanted to get a woman on his leg, my only stipulation was that she had to have brown hair and brown eyes! 🙂
This one still needs to be touched up and colored in.
This one is fresh, I took this picture the day after he got it.  It also needs to be colored in.
I have a few more that I would like to get, but I don’t plan on covering my whole body. I love tattoos, and they make me happy!!  I hate how people judge people with tattoos.  I’ve never personally experienced this, but I have read on this blog, about people saying things to them about getting tattoos.  I don’t think tattoos change a person!! I know that I am not heavily tattooed or anything, but for the people that don’t like mine; I’m the same person that I’ve always been, I just have beautiful pieces of art on me now 🙂
I love tattoos and I always will!
What do you think about tattoos?
***I think it’s ok to get ideas from seeing other peoples tattoos, but I DON’T think it is ever ok to copy exactly, someone elses tattoos.  They are supposed to be yours, and it only matters what they mean to YOU.
